Rami Suzuki joined ARCHIMED as Managing Director in 2024, bringing more than 20 years of leadership experience in the healthcare sector. A Japanese citizen, she began her career as a postdoctoral researcher specializing in breast cancer after earning her PhD in Medicine from University College London.
She later moved into venture capital in London, focusing on life sciences, before joining Eisai Co., Ltd. in 2004. There, she advanced to Corporate Officer in Global Business Development by 2016. Rami went on to hold senior leadership roles as Head of Medical Affairs at Janssen Japan, CEO of Ferring Japan, and most recently, President and Representative Director of Moderna Japan.
Throughout her career, she has been instrumental in the success of a wide range of therapeutics—from niche rare disease treatments to global blockbusters—spanning both small molecules and biologics. Her expertise covers licensing, M&A, public-private partnerships, fundraising, investments, and startups.
She also contributes her expertise to national research and innovation through service on committees and boards for the Cabinet Office, Ministry of Education, AMED, JST, RIKEN, the University of Tokyo, and the University of Tsukuba.
